The
extension of the province of Girona makes of this section a very
useful one. Therefore we suggest that you go to these essential
places to feel the essence of our lands and to discover the most
famous spots. These are the ten places that we consider a “must”:

| This is the capital city of the province. Here you’ll
find a very assorted cultural offer: from the centenarian

links the old quarter with the modern one, and lots of interesting
sites. |

where he spent all his life. |

Massís del Montgrí. |
| A natural park made up of seven islets that
form the extension into the sea of the Montgrí massif
which feature a unique and magnificent underwater flora and
fauna. |

El Pla de l’Estany, you’ll find the Iberian Peninsula’s
largest lake, where you can practice water sports, specially
rowing, canoeing and, of course, punting. |

|
Empúries. |

the village which became the entryway to the Iberian Penninsula
during the Greek and Roman periods. |

|
Parc Natural
dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà. |
